An American child fought a fatal clash with a mountain lion and managed to win him with sticks that he held.

The 8-year-old boy, Pike Carlson, was attacked by Assad while he was playing with his older brother, Gage, in the garden of their home, in Billy County, Colorado.

The father of the child, who has narrowly escaped death, says that Assad pulled him from his head under a tree, as he tried to distress and shrieked.

The father of the child told "NBC News" America: "Assad was holding my son with his mouth, when I arrived, I rushed to save him and I knew he could kill me.

"I was not afraid of what was coming, because the most important thing was to save my child from death," he said.

After Assad's flight, my child was injured in one eye. The father said that his son was covered with blood and that he had been injured in several places in the face and head by Assad's teeth.

The child's father tore his scalp in several areas, while the doctors say that the child underwent two surgeries and that he needs a third operation for his eyelid and that he is waiting his next recovery.
