Former Egyptian goaltender coach Tarek Suleiman revealed the reasons for Mohamed El Shennawy's goalkeeper's failure to face Al Nasr at the Mercato last summer.
Al-Nasr officially began negotiations with Al-Ahli last summer for the transfer of Mohamed Al-Shennawi, but these negotiations failed.
In a televised statement, Suleiman said, "I advised Mohamed Shenawi to stay at Al-Ahli because the atmosphere will help him succeed."
He added: "Al-Shennawi was convinced of my conversation with him and refused to win the offer of Al-Nasr, that he wished to officially sign."
