The Council of the League of Arab States will meet Tuesday for its 152nd regular session, which will discuss the situation in Syria and in other Arab countries.
The session will be held at the level of Arab Foreign Ministers, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League in Cairo, led by Iraq to succeed Somalia. The ministers will discuss eight main points, including the situations in Syria, Libya, Yemen and the three islands issue: Lesser Tunb, Greater Tunb and Abu Musa.
Ministers will discuss political developments of the Palestinian cause, will activate the Arab peace initiative, Israeli violations in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in addition to monitor the developments of the colony, the wall, the intifada , prisoners, refugees, UNRWA, development and support the budget of the State of Palestine.
Ministers will also discuss the possibility of taking a unified Arab position on the violation of Iraqi sovereignty by Turkish forces, support for peace and development in Sudan and Somalia, the issue of international terrorism and ways to combat it, the safeguarding of Arab national security and the fight against terrorism, as well as the development of the Arab system of fight against terrorism.
Ministers should also discuss a point on Arab relations with the countries of Africa, Europe, the Russian Federation, Central Asia, China, the United Arab Emirates and other countries. India, Japan and South America, as well as appointments to positions within the UN, its specialized agencies and other international organizations and institutions. Support displaced people in Arab countries, and IDPs in Iraq in particular.
