Samsung Good Vibes turns phones into Morse communication tools for deafblind people

[ad_1]

Samsung India announced this week the launch of a new smartphone app designed to give hearing-impaired people a way to communicate via a smartphone. This app calls itself Good Vibes and, as its name suggests, it uses the vibrations generated by the vibrating motor of the smartphone to translate ordinary text into Morse code.

The application has a secondary user interface where you can also translate Morse code into text or voice, allowing bidirectional communication. Good Vibes is now available for download on the Galaxy Store and will soon be integrated with the Google Play Store for all Android smartphone users.

In addition to Good Vibes, Samsung India also announced the relaunch of Relumino, an application developed by Samsung's C-Labs, introduced for the first time at the MWC 2017 Mobile World Congress in early 2017.

Relumino was created to help the visually impaired by dealing with heavy images. The application manages images by adjusting the contrast and brightness of colors, highlighting contours, zooming and inverting colors, to make images and elements more readable. The app typically requires some devices, such as the Samsung Gear VR glasses, and Samsung, as well as the National Association of the Blind of India, will provide classroom equipment to help visually impaired students.
