The league officially starts on September 21st and Al-Ahly will play Zamalek in the fourth week.

The five-member Football Federation committee, chaired by Amr Al-Janaini, officially announced the launch of the league's competition at its 61st edition, the 2019-2020 season, on 21 September.

The result of the Premier League draw against Ahli and Zamalek in the fourth week of the competition in its version No. 61.

18 clubs participate in the new version of the league which are clubs: Ahli – Zamalek – Ismaili – Pyramids – Egyptian Port Said – Union of Alexandria – Tanta – El Gouna – Arab Entrepreneurs – Army of the Vanguard – Production military – Aswan – Egypt – clearing of Egypt – Border guards – Smouha – Enppi – Wadi Degla.

Ahli and Zamalek are the most involved clubs in the history of the Egyptian league, where both teams have participated in all seasons of the tournament since the beginning of the 1948/49 season, followed by Egyptian and Al Ittihad from Alexandria, where they did not participate in two seasons.

Al Ahly is the Premier League champion with 41 titles, while Zamalek is second with only 12 titles.
