Al-Mareeh said that Syrian international Omar Al-Souma was still causing problems within Al-Ahly.
Al Al Ahli's board decided to dismiss coach Branko Ivankovic after a 2-1 defeat by Al Wahda in the third round of the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Cup.
In a televised statement, he said: "Al-Ahli has a lot of problems within the team and not the club in general".
"Omar Soma still has problems with the managers, the club leaders and the players, I love him but he has a problem to manage."
Soma had been in a crisis for several weeks with former coach Branco, before the administration intervened and put an end to the problem.
