According to the Ministry of Health, at least seven people have died of cholera outbreaks in the last three weeks in southeastern Sudan.

Dozens of people were injured as a result of the outbreak in Blue Nile State.

No other cases have been reported in other states.

According to the authorities, 16 of the 18 Sudanese states have been hit by heavy rains and floods in late August, the worst since 2013.

New cases of malaria have been reported in several Sudanese states, the World Health Organization (WHO) has announced.

Naima al-Qusair, WHO Representative in Sudan, warned earlier this week of the risk of cholera and other intestinal diseases unless there are "interventions and" immediate answers ".
