Yesterday, Thursday, state media quoted a Chinese space agency official as saying that a Chinese spacecraft is expected to land on Mars next May.

“The spacecraft, which left Earth in July, is expected to land in Utopia Planetia, a plain in the northern hemisphere of Mars,” said Liu Tongji, a spokesperson for the Chinese Mars mission.

Also, another spacecraft that the United States and United Arab Emirates launched this year is on its way to Mars, although only the American spacecraft will attempt to land on the Red Planet.

It should be noted that in 2003, China became the third country to send a man into space with its own missile after the former Soviet Union and the United States of America, and China made space exploration has been a top priority in recent years as it attempts to become a major space power by 2030.
