Family doctor and weight control and intermittent fasting specialist Dr Faisal Saud said intermittent fasting has several benefits on the body, saying it has different methods.
Dr Faisal explained during his interview with Al-Akhbariya channel that intermittent fasting is a system for determining and timing meals and not a diet, indicating that it is allowed to drink water, coffee or tea without any additives.
He added that intermittent fasting can last for 12 hours, 16 hours, 20 hours, or 24 hours, indicating that its benefits begin after a 12-hour fast.
He stressed that intermittent fasting is safe and that most of its symptoms are headaches and constipation, for a temporary period, explaining that it is not suitable for adolescents and children as they are in times of growth.
