Citizen Muhammad al-Khalifa was keen to design a mosque in the city of Al-Rass in Al-Qassim, not to rely on any electric source to light or illuminate the mosque.
He explained, during his interview with “Fi A Week” on the “MBC” channel, that he had designed the mosque in a technical way that allows it to be self-lit and air-conditioned without using electric current, by drawing the air from the lighthouse from inside the mosque to a channel 1.5 meters deep inside the ground, and there the air is cooled. Then he sent him back to the mosque.
And the Caliph relied on opposite mirrors in front to illuminate the mosque, which was designed as a cave in the ground, where the Saudi engineer attributed his preference to build the mosque on the mountain of fear of being overlooked.
He pointed out that the mosque consists of mountain boulders in addition to concrete and iron casts, stressing that he established this mosque to withstand harsh weather conditions.
An architectural masterpiece … a mosque in the city of Al-Rass that is self-adapting and lit without electricity.
