A royal expert has revealed that Queen Elizabeth II will step down next year in favor of Prince Charles.

Royal expert Robert Jobson, who appeared on True Royalty’s The Royal Beat, has claimed the Queen will step down from royal life in 2021.

“I still strongly believe that the Queen will resign at 95,” said the royal biographer.

“I understand the Queen has given this a good thought and believes that if she is still alive at 95, she will seriously consider handing over the decision to Charles,” Robert told Britain’s Daily Mail.

He added: “Her Majesty understands his age and wants to make sure that when the time comes, the transition to the crown will be a smooth one.”

Another royal expert backed up this claim, saying the Queen would be forced to hand the throne over to Prince Charles.

But Jack Royston, the royal correspondent for the British newspaper “Newsweek”, said during the show: “I think she won’t want this. But in reality it will reach a point where everything is handed over to Charles.”

According to the rules of royal succession, Queen Elizabeth II cannot retire, but she can terminate all her royal duties and responsibilities if her health becomes a concern, allowing the Queen to abdicate the throne to his heir “in the event of incapacity of health”.

So, in this case, the heir to the throne will be Prince Charles, except that Elizabeth II will remain Queen, while her eldest son will in fact take over most of the tasks, and continue the responsibilities of his mother until he is king.
