The leader of the Tunisian movement Ennahda (54 Islamic deputies / 217), the president of the Parliament, Rached Ghannouchi, declared on Wednesday that “there are Arab countries which are concerned about the freedom and the democracy which Tunisians enjoy”.

It came in a speech by Ghannouchi on the occasion of a welcome party on Wednesday at the Renaissance Movement headquarters in the capital.

Ghannouchi returned to talk about the recall session of him last Thursday, questioning the reason for the intense media coverage from a number of Gulf channels for this session.

“On Arafah’s Day (last Thursday), we saw a number of Gulf TV stations leave the coverage of Arafah’s Day (in Makkah Al-Mukarramah) and head to Tunisia,” he said. said Ghannouchi.

But the “wedding” they were preparing for did not take place (referring to the failure of the President of the Assembly of People’s Representatives’ withdrawal of confidence list, which failed) and the coverage did not occur. not to teach their people a lesson in democracy, but rather to convey a kind of healer and vicious joy for the pain of others.

“What worries them (these countries are for the Arabs) is the democracy in which Tunisia lives”, declared Ghannouchi, stressing that “the person of Ghannouchi or so and so does not worry them, but rather freedom”.

He stressed that “any dictatorship in the world is afraid of any free voice, even at the end of the world”.

Ghannouchi added, unfortunately, that “many Arab countries harass them in Tunisia for the freedom that Tunisians enjoy. That is why they came (via their chains) not to celebrate freedom in Tunisia, nor to tell their people how the Tunisian people exercise their freedom and how to choose their officials, but to witness the scene of the fall of a president. Parliament. “

Ghannouchi estimated that “July 30 was an international day full of symbolism, affirming the right of the representatives of the people to be appointed and removed from their functions”.

He added, explaining that “the battle is with the exclusives, who believe the best place for an Islamist is jail, grave, or alienation.”

Ghannouchi explained that “those who led this from the other side are a known party with a history of eradication, and they are the eradicationists of the assembly (the party of former president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, the “Democratic Constitutional Rally” was dissolved after the revolution) and not all (the assembly), to emphasize that not all Constitutionalists are exclusivists. “

And last Thursday, only 97 deputies from different blocs voted to withdraw Ghannouchi’s confidence, while the withdrawal of confidence from the president of the Assembly of People’s Representatives required the support of 109 deputies out of 217 in parliament.
