Al-Marsad Journal: A recent study warned against the food we eat daily in order to provide our body with the necessary energy, pointing out that this can lead to serious damage to health.
The experts said that the food problem lies in the aspects of quantity and quality. In other words, we can eat more than we need, or we can accept foods that are high in sugar and fat.
Big change
Some experts believe that our contemporary way of life has undergone a big transformation, so that it no longer fits what we have been eating for 50 years.
A study announced in the scientific journal “Science Advances” aims to conduct an experiment in this regard, that is to say to measure the evolution of the diet and its adequacy with the lifestyle.
Turkana tribes
The study observed the customs of the Turkana tribes in northwestern Kenya, especially as a difference was observed between residents who maintained the traditional way of life and those who immigrated to the city and have started to eat in a modern way.
The study included a sample of 1,226 adults at 44 sites, and the results revealed that those who continued to eat traditionally and were closer to primitives, maintained much better health and performed very high in ten health indicators.
A different diet
As for people who moved to live in cities, their health was much worse, and the reason was that their diet was different from what it was before migration.
So, going back to the old diet can be very beneficial as it can also prevent dangerous diseases caused by obesity.
