Oil prices made big gains being traded today, Monday, after news of a successful vaccine against the emerging corona virus was announced, which heightened the state of optimism in the markets.

At 4:20 p.m. Moscow time, US West Texas Intermediate crude futures were trading at $ 41.32 a barrel, an 11.25% increase from the previous settlement price.

Brent futures traded at $ 43.47 per barrel, up 10.19% from the previous closing price.

Today, Monday, Pfizer and BioNTech announced the successful completion of the third phase of their coronavirus vaccine testing.

German company BioNTech and its US partner Pfizer expected the new vaccine to be officially registered before the end of this month, and the two companies also confirmed that the vaccine has shown its effectiveness in 90% of cases, without any serious observation regarding the safety of vaccination.
