During an international video conference, NASA suggested sending a space mission to the asteroid “Apophis”, which threatens Earth, and detonate it.

The year 2029, Friday April 13, should witness the approach of the large asteroid “Apophis” of the Earth at a distance equivalent to one tenth of the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

Apophis has a diameter of 350 meters, knowing that the diameter of the Chelyabinsk asteroid which exploded in the Russian Urals mountains in 2013 is 20 times smaller.

The asteroid “Apophis” is expected to approach Earth from a distance of only 38,000 km. And it can be seen with the naked eye as a bright star in the fractal.

And “Apophis” had previously approached Earth in 2014 from a distance of 14.5 million km. But his approach, which will take place in 2029, will be a record for the first time in human history.

Therefore, mankind began to prepare for the arrival of “Apophis”. From November 4 to 6, NASA organized an international videoconference in the presence of the professor of the Russian Federal University of the Urals, Viktor Grokovsky, known for his studies on the subject of the asteroid “Chelyabinsk”.

The Russian professor who delivered a speech at the conference said that humanity does not yet know what is targeting and threatening us. Is there iron, stones, or something else?

Therefore, humanity cannot fight it, because it must first know its components and specifications.

It should be noted that the Japanese probe, Hayabusa-2, had taken soil samples from the asteroid Ryugu, located 340 million kilometers away, in February 2019. The American probe, OSIRIS-Rex, landed there a months on the asteroid Bennu and also took soil samples on its surface.

The director of this American space mission, Dante Lauretta, suggested using the expertise of his probe and sending a space mission to “Apophis”. Certainly the scientists participating in the conference did not agree on the date of dispatch of this mission and on the effectiveness of an explosion which could be managed on the surface of “Apophis”.
