Education is a basic human right, according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), but despite this, millions of students are still deprived of this right due to various social, economic and security factors. At a time when Arab governments are supposed to ensure quality education for all segments of society, the gap is widening between the well-off who provide their children with a good education and the poor who cannot even afford the basic necessities for their children.
In “Life and People”, Tariq Hamdan discusses equity and quality of education in the Arab world, and welcomes both:
Dr .. Rifaat Al-Sabah, an expert in the field of education from Palestine.
Dr .. Fakher Daas, general coordinator of the “National Campaign for Political Life” of Jordan.
Dr .. Maha Mahjoub, Head of the Future Career Development Center and international consultant in human resources management in Egypt.
Dr .. Talal Atrissi is a professor at the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University of Lebanon.
