At its last session, the House of Representatives approved Decision No. 473 of 2020 of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt regarding the approval of the Third Amendment to the Aid Grant Agreement between Egypt and the United States on improving health outcomes for target groups.
The third amendment to the grant agreement seeks to provide a new amount of $ 10 million for the project as an additional contribution from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to continue to achieve the goals of the project to support family planning services, reproductive health, improvement of selected health behaviors and support for planning and decision-making policies.
The committee’s report indicates that family planning and population planning programs have captured the state’s attention in order to activate article 41 of the Constitution, which states that the state is committed to implementing a program. population aimed at achieving a balance between population growth rates and available resources.
The report indicated that the Egyptian government was keen to advance the family and reproductive health system, and therefore accepted an aid grant agreement between Egypt and America on improving the outcomes of health for the target group on 09/26/2017 and approved by Parliament on 03/07/2018, which aims to support Egypt’s current organizational program.
