Attention was drawn to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s announcement of its interest in water security in Egypt and Sudan, following its support for the Egyptian initiative in Libya, in word and deed. A friend who valued her experience in public policy and her interest in Libyan and Arab public affairs commented on my article in the newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat” on the Egyptian Initiative for Peace and Stability in Libya that it could succeed if the mediator or the initiator was neutral like the Germans, for example, but Egypt is a party! I realized from this remark, that he didn’t understand what I meant in the article. Any Arab can be neutral on an Arab issue, such as Palestine, Libya, Syria or Yemen. What I meant is that Egypt has taken a stand to protect its national security and protect its Arab neighborhood, even though it is forced to resort to diplomacy by force alongside the power of diplomacy. The Iranians are always ready to use force through their loyal militias and “Revolutionary Guards” for what they see as the strategic interests of their country and of their allies in several Arab countries. And the Turks are ready to use military force, militias and mercenaries to preserve or invent short and long term strategic interests. For years, we have witnessed manifestations of international and regional denial and condemnation of Turkish and Iranian interventions in Arab countries, without this being dissuaded by the two countries or preventing their interventions, and their contribution to the disorder and to the continued sabotage of known and unknown interests! Of course, the goal of any Arab effort is to restore peace and stability to troubled Arab countries. However, with the exception of Yemen and Libya, where force diplomacy is used; The purely diplomatic intervention did not help. On the contrary, this “neutrality”, even if it was accompanied by international decisions, has remained without tangible effects in the service of stability and peace.
In the spring of 2013, I was with President Fouad Siniora when he met the late Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal. President Siniora was concerned about the stormy developments in Syria and I was amazed by the developments in Egypt, where “political Islam” took over democratically (!) And Prince Saud said as far as I can remember; There is no fear for Egypt, nor for Tunisia and Algeria, because the national army there is one and capable, and the deep state in the three countries is in it and with it. she. Rather, the fear is for Syria, as the army disintegrates and turns into a sectarian militia, calling on other sectarian militias to support it, and the revolutionaries break arms and become militias as well. As long as Iran intervenes, Turkey will be, and the Americans and the Russians are also close. For more than two years, Arab diplomacy functioned without success, because we had only mediation pressures and international decisions. If it was possible, or on the horizon, that Arab intervention had been possible to restore stability, the Iranians and others would not have dared! And what happened in Syria, the same has happened in several Arab countries, and the rope is on the tractor. The diplomacy of negotiation without the other abilities on the table calls for aspirants near and far, and there is no strength or power except in God.
The “wise” will say, and they have said, but the intervention in Yemen against the coup has so far failed to restore the country in favor of legitimacy. Those who know Yemen also know that if Yemeni countries are left to the Houthi dynasty, it means endless wars, at least 3 entities, the survival of Al Qaeda there, border disputes between entities in the mountains. and the coasts, the loss of the security of the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea, and permanent danger to countries. The Gulf, where are the dangers of the Oman and Gulf Liberation Front in the 1970s, during the Cold War ?!
The Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates have taken the lead for the sake of the security, peace and unity of Yemen and for the sake of the security of the Gulf and its states.
The Egyptian initiative today for Libya, which has been supported by most of the Arab countries and most of the international community, strengthens and opens the horizons of peace and hope, and contributes to the return to the Conference of Berlin and a negotiated peaceful solution. It is the alternative to the militias, the Turkish invasion and its mercenaries. Without the Egyptian hold on the table, the division would have increased in the near future, and conflict and wars would continue.
Since the last meeting of the Arab League, we have witnessed a return to Arab solidarity, joint defense and joint Arab action. This is something that has been absent since the Sirte summit in Libya in 2010. Usually in times of crisis a strong Arab melting pot seems to try to catch up, restore rationality, solidarity and safeguard interests. Amid the multiplication of legacy and current problems with the ocean and the interior, there is the Kingdom, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Jordan in the east and the Gulf. Therefore, the hard work to rebuild the Arab system, which has been cracked, is not due to Arab conflicts as they say, but because of Iranian and Turkish interventions, and the work of international politicians with them in l absence of the Arab people from the house!
There is not a single side in the contemporary world where these two dangerous diseases meet in the countries of Arab turmoil; External interventions and armed militias who have started to work for them. In this “solid circle”, the Arab countries maintain excellent relations with the international system and with the great powers. On-line and mobile diplomacy should have the capabilities to gradually reduce interference, in agreement with the international community. As for the militias, they only have national armies, which must be supported without hesitation in order to regain their strength and national capacities. And let’s stop listening to analyzes on the forces of political Islam. Islam is not a problem, because a world religion like Islam cannot be transformed into an ideology of militias who carry false flags and use them to terrorize people, plunder wealth and work for those who pay. more. It is an opportunity after the absence of all the opportunities, an opportunity for the security of countries, the peace of mankind and the preservation of the interests of societies, so is it possible in a large rich Arab country like the Iraq that the government is not able to pay the salaries of its employees, and for an armed militia to show its forces in the streets without responsibility or control? And in an Arab country like Lebanon, prosperous and at the forefront more than a century ago, is it conceivable that its people will go bankrupt and starve, because the armed militia and its allies want it? ? And what is said about Lebanon and Iraq is the same thing and more about Arab Libya.
There is no way out except through Arab solidarity and the Arab initiative, for the good of humanity and urbanization.
