Yesterday, the joint meeting of ministerial sector technical committees in the Sudanese Council of Ministers discussed the foundations and rules of the general budget for the 2021 fiscal year.

According to the meeting, the rules for the fiscal year 2021 budget included a set of financial policies, the most important of which is the reform of public finances through the development and activation of revenue sources and the rationalization of public expenditure.

It also included expanding external financing opportunities and strengthening the institutional environment to restore economic growth.

The 2021 budget in Sudan aims to reduce the overall budget deficit, diversify revenue sources and curb inflation, as well as reduce the impact of economic reforms on vulnerable groups and groups.

The joint technical committee meeting recommended the need to fully implement the unified treasury system and speed up the adoption of the investment law.

Annual inflation in Sudan has been at record rates, reaching 229.85 percent last October, down from 212.29 percent in September, driven by food and transport prices, according to data from the Sudanese Statistics Authority.

Sudan’s external debt has reached $ 60 billion and is in urgent need of financial assistance to reorganize its economy.
