Local media in Argentina quoted a relative of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona as the last sentence he said a few minutes before his death as saying: “I don’t feel well”.

Members of his family said he was having breakfast when he started to feel upset and said, “I am not feeling well.”

The sources stressed that “with the arrival of the doctors, Maradona was no longer able to breathe and the doctors were unable to save him”.

Maradona was at home in the city of Tigre, near the capital, Buenos Aires, where he was going through a period of recovery following an operation he had conducted in early November, due to a blood clot in his brain.
