Dutch Foreign Minister “Steve Block” welcomed the agreement to normalize relations between Morocco and the Zionist entity which has usurped Arab lands in Palestine.
“We welcome the return of diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco, mediated by the United States,” Steve Block wrote in a tweet on Friday, “This is an important step for the further normalization between Israel and the Arab world “.
On Thursday, outgoing US President Donald Trump announced that the Kingdom of Morocco and Israel have agreed to fully normalize their relations, on condition that they subsequently establish full diplomatic relations.
Morocco became the fourth Arab country to announce normalization with Israel this year after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan, underscoring both its commitment to the two-state solution and to Palestinian rights.
“Another historic milestone today!” Trump said in a tweet: “Our brilliant friends Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed to establish full diplomatic relations – huge progress for the peace process in Middle East.”
Trump announced that Morocco is committed to normalizing its relations with Israel, as recently did three Arab countries, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.
In a second tweet, Trump also said that the Kingdom of Morocco recognized the United States in 1777 and therefore Washington recognizes its sovereignty over Western Sahara. Trump also wrote on Twitter that he had signed a declaration recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara.
Trump’s decision signals a fundamental shift in American foreign policy, just six weeks into Trump’s tenure, in terms of recognizing Western Sahara.
