Reuters news agency quoted Bahrain’s National Regulatory Authority for Health Professions and Services today, Sunday, that it has approved the official registration of the “Sinopharm” vaccine. The statement cited data from the third phase of clinical trials which showed “the vaccine’s 86% efficacy against coronavirus infection.”
The statement said, “Bahrain participated in the clinical trials of the vaccine as part of the Campaign for Humanity, where more than 7,700 volunteers participated in the third phase of the trials. The authority has previously authorized the emergency use of the vaccine ”.
Kuwaiti license
On the other hand, the Kuwaiti news agency said that the health ministry today granted approval for the emergency use of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine on Sunday. The German News Agency quoted the Deputy Under Secretary for Drug and Food Control Affairs of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Badr, on the issuance by the ministry of a license to use emergency for the vaccine “Pfizer – Biontech”.
Al-Badr said that this stemmed from the decision of the joint technical committee between the Department of Medicinal and Herbal Medicine Registration and Control and the Department of Public Health to assess and register vaccines and vaccines, noting that the technical committee had conducted a comprehensive assessment of the information on safety, efficacy and quality.

Al-Badr said the review process also included all technical and scientific aspects, stressing that the Ministry of Health will carefully monitor the safety and security of the vaccine after its use, in addition to continuous monitoring of information and data. by the Ministry on the safety, efficacy and quality of the vaccine locally and internationally, and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
Egyptian manufacture
In Cairo, Dr. Sherine Helmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pharco Pharmaceuticals, said Egypt would soon become a hub and headquarters for the manufacture of the Corona vaccine in Africa. The website quoted Helmy as saying yesterday that the company will soon start manufacturing the Russian vaccine, “Sputnik v”, after a corporate agreement was signed between the company, “Biogenics”, a company of the Pharco pharmaceutical group, and the Russian investment fund.
