News 24 | Sources: Registration of preachers and imams for their negligence in warning against “the Brotherhood” and their failure to respect the declaration of “senior academics”

Sources said that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Appeal and Guidance decided to end the registration of a number of preachers and imams in 9 different regions. This is due to their neglect in warning against the Muslim Brotherhood and their disregard of the Council of Senior Scholars’ statement.

The sources explained, according to Al-Watan, that the decision included imams and preachers from the regions of Riyadh, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Madinah, Al-Qassim, Asir, Hail, Najran, Al-Sharqiya and Tabuk.

She said that preachers and imams did not follow the ministry’s directives to warn in their pulpits of the danger of the Muslim Brotherhood and to state their intentions, and that this is a terrorist group that does not not represent the approach of Islam.

Interestingly, Islamic Affairs Minister Dr Abd al-Latif Al al-Sheikh previously ordered that the Friday sermon be devoted to the reference to the Council of Senior Scholars statement in which he warned against the Brotherhood, and after that, the regional administrations submitted to the ministry the names of the short preachers after their counting.
