In his interview with Media Line, Ali explained that the series was widely watched in the Arab world, especially in the Gulf countries and Egypt, where more than 140 million viewers watched it.

The series “Umm Haroun” deals with the history of the Jewish community in the Gulf region in the forties of the last century, focusing on a Jewish midwife, and it was first broadcast on the channel Saudi “MBC” last Ramadan.

Ali pointed out that the Gulf region in the 1940s was completely different from what it is today, adding: “No one asked you about your religion, and many of my friends in Bahrain are Jews.”

For his part, Saudi actor Abdul Mohsen Al-Nimr, who played the role of a Jewish rabbi, said the “Umm Haroun” series took place at a sensitive time, a few months before the peace.

Al-Nimr said one of the series’ goals is to show Jews, Christians and Muslims who were together in peace and quiet, thus highlighting a little-known place in the region’s history. .
