The most severe sentence, which is life imprisonment, was imposed on Muhammad Belhassen, who was tried in absentia and is believed to have died in Syria. The court convicted the perpetrator of the attack on the Jewish store, Amedi Coulibaly, for “complicity” in terrorist crimes.
Hayat Boumediene, Coulibaly’s wife, who has been in hiding since she fled to Syria a few days after the two attacks, was sentenced to 30 years in prison without the possibility of release before serving two-thirds of the sentence.

A similar sentence was imposed on Alireza Bulat, who has been described as the “right-hand man” of the perpetrator of the attack on the Jewish store. The 35-year-old Frenchman of Turkish origin was sentenced for “complicity” and “having played a key role” in the preparation of the attacks, according to the court.
At the end of the hearing, his defense lawyer, Isabel Cotan-Berry, announced his intention to appeal the verdict.
The court indicted three other defendants, all close to Amedi Coulibaly, with association with terrorist criminals, after finding it impossible for them to ignore the nature of the plot to attack the Jewish store.
Ammar Ramdani was sentenced to the most severe of them, 20 years in prison, with no possibility of release before serving two-thirds of the sentence.
