League of Arab States Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit confirmed today, Thursday, that Iran and Turkey have imperial ambitions in the Arab region, saying the Arab world is facing difficult situations with its neighbors in the region.

Aboul Gheit said in his speech at the opening of a practical seminar organized by the Institute for Arab Research and Studies, at its headquarters in Cairo, under the title “The Arab World and Future Challenges”, that Turkey and Iran enter the Arab space and establish zones of influence and seek hegemony, warning that this regional harassment will unfortunately continue. In the coming period, due to the ideological foundations on which the policies of the two countries are based and the adoption by the ruling regimes of political Islam as a pretext for intervention in the Arab countries, stressing that the accession to the national state is a lifeline for the region and its states, and that we must persuade our neighbors to stop using religion to achieve their national interests.

He explained that the Arab region has suffered a lot in the past ten years and that it needs to restore its position and capacities, stressing that the region needs a global economic recovery and that there is a disparity in performance.
