Former Liverpool star Jimmy Carragher has slammed Egyptian player Mohamed Salah’s statements regarding his future with the England team.
Salah had met the Spanish newspaper “AS”, and had announced his dissatisfaction with the attribution of the title of captain of Liverpool to the defender Trent Alexander Arnold, in his place, during the team match with the Danish club “Midgeland” in the Champions League.
Salah hinted that he had not objected to the Spanish League transfer during the meeting, saying Barcelona and Real Madrid were two great sides and “who knows what will happen in the future”.
British newspaper ‘Metro’ quoted Carragher’s statements in which he said: “Salah’s recent interview reinforces the idea that his career comes first. His comments on his annoyance at not having appointed him captain the confirmed. “
Carragher added: “The timing of talking about the player’s transfer is really strange. My take was that it was a message to the owners of Liverpool, to offer him a profitable new deal.”
It is worth mentioning that Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp responded to speculation about Salah’s future on Thursday, saying the latter was “happy” in the Premier League.
“We don’t usually talk about deals, not with you (the media). Why should we start now?” Klopp said at a press conference ahead of his side’s game against ailing West Bromwich.
