The family of the late Syrian director Hatem Ali received his body after his autopsy, with a view to his transfer to Syria to be buried there, after his death in his room at the Zamalek Marriott hotel.

Investigating authorities performed an autopsy to ensure there was no criminal resemblance in the death, as the late director died of a heart attack.
Security service investigations revealed that the late manager Hatem Ali resided at the Zamalek Marriott Hotel, and that his body showed no signs of violence or criminal suspicion, and it became clear upon signing the initial medical examination that the death was the result of cardiac arrest.
It also emerged from the emptying of the road surveillance cameras of the hotel that no one wanted to enter or leave the room of the deceased.
