A chemistry researcher at the American “Scripps” Center has reached a new understanding of the origin of life on Earth, paving the way for more accurate information in the near future, according to “Sky News” Arabia.
And “Sky News” Arabia quoted, according to Angewandte newspaper “Chemie”, which recently published the study, that the element is diammonium, a component present on Earth before the emergence of life, the chemical link between small units of nucleic acid called “deoxy nucleosides”. As a result of the chemical bonding process, what is known in the scientific community as primitive DNA, or the early form of DNA on Earth, emerged.
The scientific journal said the discovery was one of several similar discoveries in recent years, noting that the scientific conclusion is that molecules that work to self-replicate, which is the first formula for life on Earth, were a mixture of the two, i.e. DNA and RNA.
And the new study would dispel an idea that was circulating in recent decades that the first processes of replication or reproduction in molecules were started from RNA, while DNA appeared and was produced later based on existing life forms.
This scientific discovery could pave the way for more specialized studies to discover how the interaction between DNA and RNA took place and then spread to Earth in its original form.
The new study leads to the emergence of new practical applications in chemistry and biology, but more importantly, it paints a picture of the emergence of life on Earth. According to scientists who interviewed the science journal.
