Today (Thursday), the Department of Health provided detailed information on the 7 types of vaccines, their benefits, and the mechanism of action for each.
The ministry explained that the types of vaccines are: live attenuated virus, inactivated whole virus, protein unit derived from the pathogen, hybrid, DNA and RNA for a viral protein, a repeated or asymmetric viral vector and “peptides”.
She added that each type has characteristics that differ from the others, such as the “live attenuated virus”, which is characterized by inducing the same response to natural infection, and the “DNA” vaccine, which provides a strong cellular immunity as well as rapid development.
