Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho praised his South Korean player Son Heung-min for his scoring abilities which led him to compete for the Premier League goalscorer’s Golden Boot award.
Mourinho said in remarks highlighted by the Mirror newspaper: “I am very happy for Son, I am very happy because people now realize his value.”
He added: “He recently won the Puskas Prize, reached his 100th goal for Tottenham and is among the league’s top 3 scorers without a penalty shootout.”
He continued: “Some players score ten goals in the season from penalties, and I’m not talking about Harry Kane, by the way.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah leads the league scoring charts this season, having scored 13 goals so far, and Sun is chasing him with 12 goals.
Among Salah’s 13 goals, the Egypt international scored 5 penalties, while Leicester City striker Jimmy Vardy scored 6 from the penalty spot.
