It’s interesting how OnePlus plans to differentiate its first wearable device, the OnePlus Band, from other similar options.
According to the leaks, OnePlus’ fitness tracker comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED display and 24/7 heart rate monitoring.
It also comes with blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, IP68 dust and water resistance, multiple exercise modes, as well as a 14-day battery, for around 35 days. $.
While the OnePlus teasers don’t show the wearable very clearly, a leak last month showed what the OnePlus Band could look like, complete with a rectangular screen and a rubber strap watch.
OnePlus produces phones, headsets, and TVs in select markets, but the company confirmed that it was looking to move into new product categories when it launched OnePlus 8T last year.
Company CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the company also plans to launch a smartwatch early this year.
OnePlus sells phones around the world, but the excitement for the fitness tracker came from the Indian company’s Twitter account, indicating that the OnePlus Band may initially focus on the Indian market.
More information about the global launch of this fitness tracker should be learned at the OnePlus 9 launch event.
The OnePlus 9 is expected to arrive in the second half of Q1, but this teaser indicates that a fitness tracker will be available before the next flagship smartphone.
