Qualcomm Brings Fifth Generation Networks to Mid-Range Phones with Snapdragon 480

Now that the major smartphones support the fifth generation of communication networks, this year we will see more mid-range phones benefiting from this support also thanks to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor.

This Qualcomm processor is a big step forward in the Snapdragon 400 series, as it comes with two 2 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.8 GHz. There is an Adreno 619 GPU.

The processor supports a main camera with a resolution of up to 64 megapixels and an integrated X51 modem that offers a download speed of up to 800 megabits per second on LTE networks and up to 2500 megabits per second on networks of the fifth generation of the mmWave type and is carried out with an accuracy of 8 nm.

Reports state that the Snapdragon 480 offers a 70% improvement in AI performance. The first smartphone with this processor is expected to hit the market this month.
