Private WhatsApp groups links have appeared again when searching through Google, meaning anyone can discover a private WhatsApp group and join it after searching through Google, according to the Indian website TOI.
Previous reports first revealed the issue in 2019, before the company fixed it last year after it became a general issue, and another issue emerged at that time related to the user accounts appeared in search results, but the company solved it again.
Due to this new issue, people can view their phone numbers and profile photos through a simple Google search, and by allowing indexing of group chat invitations, WhatsApp provides many private groups on the web. where anyone can access their links using a simple google search.
Anyone who finds these links can join groups, as well as view attendees and their phone numbers with posts posted to those groups.
Independent cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia reported on the indexing of group chat invitations in WhatsApp through Google, while indexing appears to have started again recently, and there have been over 1,500 links to group invite available in search results so far, while some links are working. Which Google indexed in WhatsApp groups to share pornography, and in a few other cases there were links to WhatsApp groups dedicated to a specific community or interest.
