Makkah Al-Mukarramah Maternity and Children’s Hospital Executive Director Hilal Al-Maliki recognized Pakistan Consul Sami Khan as a baby whose mother gave birth to a “premature baby” during his visit to the Kingdom to practice Umrah, and was forced to return to his country due to the pandemic.
The child spent a year in the nursery, under the supervision of a specialized medical team, until he was handed over to the consulate delegation, which will transport the child to his family in Pakistan.
The executive director of the hospital explained that the mother gave birth to her baby, after an early cesarean section, because her newborn was a premature baby weighing 1 kilogram, and he was placed on artificial respiration, and he was kept in hospital under observation for 46 days.
Medical director and head of neonatal intensive care, Dr Attia bin Saleh Al-Zahrani, explained that the child remained in intensive care for almost a year until his weight improved, and he was transferred to special care under the supervision of the Department of Social Services.
The Pakistani consul thanked the government of the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Crown Prince, the Ministry of Health and the hospital’s medical team for their efforts and the provision of excellent health care to the child, expressing his joy for the efforts made to take care of the child, and the constant contact with his family during his stay, and constantly reassured them about his state of health.
