A source familiar with the matter said on Saturday that former US President Donald Trump would seek to return to the political spotlight through a speech he will deliver at a major meeting of the Conservatives.

Additionally, the source told Reuters, who requested anonymity, that Trump intended to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida on February 28, the last day of their meeting.

The source said Trump “will talk about the future of the Republican Party and the Conservative movement.”

A number of high-profile Republican members who are seen as potential candidates for the party in the 2024 presidential election are also expected to speak at the conference, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Governor of Dakota. from the South, Christy Noim.

And last Tuesday, Trump called on Senate Republicans to work on the impeachment of House Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Trump sharply criticized McConnell in a statement, describing him as a “dark politician, frowning and not smiling, and if Republican senators stay with him, they won’t win anymore.”

Trump’s statement comes after McConnell earlier said that although he voted to acquit the Republican billionaire in his impeachment trial, the former president is “practically and morally responsible” for the bloody attack on a mob of his supporters at the Capitol on January 6.
