Al-Marsad Journal: Russian doctor Natalia Oklina and her colleague, Larisa Alexieva, have warned of the health risks facing vitamin D enthusiasts.

“Vitamin D is not an allergen,” Dr. Oklina explains in a TV interview, “but production companies use different external peels and many additives to improve taste etc. which can cause allergies” , according to Russia Today.

She added, therefore, due to the potential side effects, vitamin D should be taken in the dose prescribed by the doctor.

For her part, Dr. Alexieva warns against excessive intake of vitamin D, because the increased concentration of vitamin D in the body causes itching, headaches and nausea. She points out that this vitamin is sold in pharmacies in special protective doses, and the safe dose is 600 international units.

She points out that taking vitamins without a prescription is not normal. But during a pandemic, vitamins that boost immunity and help fight the virus, like vitamin D, can be taken without seeing a doctor, but at their specified daily dose.
