Astronomer Dr Khaled Al-Zaq explained the difference between snow and hail, which are characteristic of atmospheres during the winter season in some countries.
Al-Zaq said the hail came from the upper atmosphere, meaning inside the cloud itself, adding that it usually only came from summer clouds.
He pointed out that snow comes from the lower layers of the atmosphere, that is, it is composed of moisture, which indicates that it is moving through northerly winds, that the ‘we call the peak of winter.
