23 women are among the 100 most influential scientists in the Arab world

The ARCIF Foundation (The Impact Factor and Citations for Arab Scientific Journals) has announced the list of the 100 most influential authors and researchers in the Arab world for 2019.

According to the Arcef report, “the 100 most influential authors and researchers for their books come from 17 Arab countries.” Their research has been published in 499 scientific and research journals published in Arabic.

Jordanian authors and researchers top the list, after Palestine, followed by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Iraq, Yemen, Morocco, Syria, Bahrain, from Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and Libya, respectively.

It should be noted that the “Arsif” Foundation has worked on the collection, study and analysis of data from more than 4,300 titles of an Arab scientific or research journal in various disciplines published by university organizations. , scientists or research in 20 Arab countries. Among these, only 499 scientific journals succeeded in being accredited according to the “Arcef” standards in the 2019 report and in accordance with international standards.

The report identified a list of the top 100 authors out of 13,000 authors whose research published in these journals was cited.

The report stated that 23 women were among the 100 most influential authors and researchers, considering that “an indication of the growing role of Arab women in Arab scientific and academic production”.
