Healthy alternatives to saltKing Abdulaziz Medical City internist and gastroenterologist Dr Abdullah Al-Dhiyabi has advised stressed patients to get salt from natural alternatives.

He explained that patients with high blood pressure should not reduce their salt intake by more than 1,500 milligrams, which is equivalent to a teaspoon.

He pointed out that there are alternatives to salt that should be used for patients with blood pressure, and they are garlic, pepper, cinnamon and turmeric.
