And Buckingham Palace issued a statement today, Tuesday, saying: “The whole family feels sad after fully realizing how difficult the past few years have been for Harry and Meghan.”

The statement added: “The issues raised, particularly those related to race, raise concerns. While some accounts may differ, they will be taken very seriously and will be considered by the family in particular.”

The statement stressed that “Harry, Megan and Archie will always be much loved members of the family.”

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan stepped down from royal duties in January 2020 and moved with their first son Archie to Southern California in the United States for a more independent life away from the British media.

Their televised interview with famous American broadcaster Oprah Winfrey, broadcast by “CBS” last Sunday, sparked the biggest crisis in the British royal family since the death of Princess Diana, Harry’s mother, in 1997 when the family ruled by Queen Elizabeth II has been widely criticized for being late in commenting.

During the interview, Harry and Meghan accused a member of the royal family of making racist statements about Archie, saying the unidentified person expressed concern over their son’s skin color , and Megan said she felt rejected to the point of being suicidal.

Harry also said in the two-hour interview that his father, heir to the throne, Prince Charles, had “let him down”, and the prince added that he felt in a “trap” because of his life of a member of the royal family.

Earlier on Tuesday, a royal source said Queen Elizabeth, who has been in power for 69 years, wanted some time before the palace gave an answer.

A spokesman for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he saw the interview but declined to comment.
