The United States overtook Saudi Arabia to become India’s second-largest oil supplier last month, data showed, as refiners took their purchases of cheaper U.S. crude to unprecedented levels.
Data showed India’s imports from the world’s largest producer rose 48% to an all-time high of 545,300 barrels per day in February from the previous month, accounting for 14% of imports. India totals last month.
On the other hand, data showed last February’s imports from Saudi Arabia fell 42 percent from the previous month, to the lowest level in ten years at 445,200 barrels per day.
