Former director of King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Dr Muhammad Omar Zubair, died yesterday (Thursday) while performing midday prayer in a mosque next to his home.
The Founding University mourned Dr Zubair with great sadness and presented on behalf of its president and all of its employees BHonest Condolences to the family of the deceased, asking Almighty God to grant him his mercy.
The deceased is the second director of King Abdulaziz University, and he holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Connecticut in America, and has been appointed teaching assistant in the Faculty of Economics and Administration , as assistant secretary then director of the university during the period from AH 1391 to AH 1399.
He has also held several works outside the academic sphere, including the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Islamic Research and Training Institute of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, the President and founding member of the International Association of Islamic economics in London, and participated as an expert in the courses of the Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
