Alfaisal University, represented by the College of Engineering, revealed a solar and electric powered car produced in cooperation with university partner “Boeing” in the presence of university president Dr Muhammad Al Hayaza, and representatives of the company.
Dr Al Hayaza explained that students from the University’s College of Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial and Technical Engineering worked on this project, which lasted 5 years, indicating that the university has created the right environment and partnerships. to complete the job as much as possible. .
He stressed that the university focuses on supporting the initiatives and projects of the students, as this is part of the construction of the personality of the student and the student, stressing that the result of this work will be the participation in international competitions and the publication of scientific research.
For his part, the assistant project supervisor at the College of Engineering, Dr Ahmed Atifi, explained that the project started in 2015/2016 academically, with the support of the Scientific Research Center of the University, and a been implemented with the highest degree of skill, and the students worked alone on mechanical, electrical and technical devices to achieve the desired goal Who made this car.
And he indicated that this car can travel up to 2,500 kilometers, at a speed of over 80 kilometers per hour, pointing out that it will participate in the Marathon competition in South Africa in 2022.
