He said the shark attempted to devour him, attacked him as he descended and held him for 6 seconds, pointing out that he was transferred to Prince Hashem Military Hospital in Aqaba for treatment. , after 4 tendons were cut in the foot.
He added that part of the muscle in his foot was torn, part of the back of the foot was missing and that he suffered from cracks in his ankle.
He said the area where the rail shark attacked him is 3 km from the beach.
Local “Khabarni” website quoted Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority official Sharhabeel Madi as saying that “specialized teams have not monitored the presence of sharks in Aqaba, but it is a sea and anything is possible “.
In the video, it appeared that the captain of the boat had been alerted to the shark attack, which may have prompted him to increase his speed, and thus lift the parachute off the surface of the sea.
For its part, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority issued a statement on Monday confirming that its officials have carried out a thorough investigation into the northern and central regions of the Jordanian coast, 24 hours a day, without being able to find sharks in these areas. .
The authority stressed the need to exercise caution and not to exceed areas designated for swimming or water sports.
