Without emulator you can run Android apps on Windows 10

Not many people know that you can run Android apps on Windows 10 without having to use an emulator, like Windows 11.

In its Windows 11 announcement, Microsoft focused on this specific feature, but it’s not a new feature and it was available for Windows 10.

This feature only works on Windows 10 with Samsung phones, and Microsoft promised to make it available for all Android phones.

How to run Android apps on Windows 10

This feature works differently from Windows 11 because it allows you to use Android apps on your Samsung phone.

Therefore, you need to install the app on your Samsung phone first and then launch it through the Windows 10 phone companion app.

You can access these apps through the Start menu or the Apps menu in the Windows 10 taskbar.

You must have the latest version of Windows 10 installed along with your Phone companion app, the Android system newer than 9.0, and both devices are on the same Internet.
After that, launch the phone companion app on the computer until you see this message:
You can install the app on your phone through Google Play or by scanning the code that appears in front of you on the screen using the phone’s camera.

After that, allow the connection between the two apps by pressing the Allow button

You should also give the app full access to calls, photos and SMS from your phone.

After that, click on the Apps tab in the left menu on the screen and then choose the app you want to launch to open it in a window by itself.
You can also right-click the app until you pin it to the Start menu or the apps list on the taskbar.

This feature also works with all flagship and mid-range Samsung phones, although the support page only includes the flagship phones.

The app generally works with all Android phones as well, but the ability to use the apps is exclusive to Samsung phones only.

You can also, through the app, mirror the phone screen and access it on the computer, and use it as if you were directly using the phone.

What has changed in Windows 11?

The way apps are supported on Windows 11 has changed, instead of only supporting Samsung phones and having to install the app on the phone before using it.

Now you can use the app directly from Windows 11 system and install it on the computer without needing to install it on the phone.

This means that you can use a different account for the same app on both the phone and the computer, just as if the computer becomes a phone.
