Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The World Economic Forum has released the ‘Efficient Energy Transition by 2021’ report, which measures the efficiency of energy systems in countries around the world in transforming and developing energy fields.

The index depends in its assessment on several factors, including the extent to which these countries are prepared to transition to a reliable energy future through a secure, sustainable and affordable system.

In its report published for the tenth consecutive year, the World Economic Forum notes the importance of anchoring the energy transition in economic, political and social practices, in order to achieve irreversible transformations and progress.

The index, which this year measures 115 countries on the performance of their energy systems, found that while 92 countries have increased their energy efficiency over the past 10 years, only 10% of countries have made consistent gains, demonstrating the need renewed focus and resilience to meet climate goals for the next decade.

Here’s a look at the infographic above on ranking Arab countries in the Efficient Energy Transition Index for 2021.
