Many do not know that the creator of the two national works is a medical student and has been practicing it for many years. He is also the author of many important works, including “Haq Mit” and “Al-Mizan” and “Hekayat Banat”, then “Kalbash” with its parts and episodes (behind each door). his adventure in writing a book based on Egyptian intelligence files, and on the world of espionage, a world into which many authors are afraid to enter for fear of comparison with previous work. author Baher Dowidar reveals the details.

Before embarking on a professional espionage experience, weren’t you afraid of comparisons to now epic works, like (Coarse-eyed Tears) and (Raafat Al-Hagan)?

Like most of my generation, we were educated by the spy and intelligence drama presented to us by our great teacher Saleh Morsi and director Yahya Alami, including (Tears in Coarse Eyes), and (Raafat Al-Hagan) , then the series of works of Dr. Nabil Farouk, God have mercy on them all, and it was a personal dream for me. Years ago I presented an intelligence case work, and presented the idea to Synergy, who I was cooperating with to provide intelligence work, then the project approval (Choice 1) is came immediately after I finished (Kalbash 3), and I have already started to prepare it, and presented the experiment which was very successful. And the idea of ​​presenting a work on espionage started, which took a lot of preparation and effort, because before I wrote a letter I was obsessed with it.

To present a spy series after (Tears in Rude Eyes) and (Raafat Al-Hagan) is difficult, especially since other works have been presented after them and have not received the same success, and the reason of the obsession is that how to present the work with different standards, I have personally learned from the writer Saleh Morsi, who has influenced many generations. At the level of the whole Arab world, he presented immortal works with a director like Yahya Al-Alami and big stars, and it struck me that he did not succeed after them with the same success as one of got them, and it asked me a lot of thought and effort, so as not to meet the same fate, and how to get out of this difficult situation, because for me It is important to present a different job, and it was therefore necessary to present a work from a modern intelligence file, because all the previous work took place in the fifties and sixties, and therefore there is a similarity between many works presented after the successful works.

Was it behind your choice of place and time, and that certain events were taking place in Iraq, for example?

Of course, because it is a recent period, as I said, and through controversial figures such as Saif and Dina, who are engaged in a series of covert operations aimed at exposing terrorist plots and conspiracies aimed at dividing the Arab region and spreading Al-Qaida around the world.

Ezz and Hend Sabry reunited after presenting the film (The Corridor). Is there a link?

There is no relation between their incarnation of the movie Al-Mamar and their appearance in the series (A Counterattack), as I wrote the subject matter, and they were nominated by the director and the production company.

Did you rely on a specific dossier in your writing of the series?

All of the work is drawn from Egyptian intelligence files, and from more than one file that has been merged into one subject, and from real events, whether inside or outside Egypt , and it is clear through the events covered by the series, whether in Egypt, Iraq or other countries.

There is more than one patriotic work, didn’t the presentation of a “counterattack” disturb you in the crowd of works like (Cairo, Kabul) and (The Choice 2)?

I have a different point of view, which is that there is no justification for competing, because we are not in a war and conflict, or a race, we all play on a team, and everyone which is good and provides an important experience will benefit the cause, because in a battle of awareness, it takes a hundred national actions to complement each other And for the drama to serve the issues of the homeland, and sensitize the Arab spectator, in many details, about things happening around us that affect our lives and our safety, and explain to us what was happening to us in our lives based on documented and very specific facts and facts.

national works and spy drama more difficult than others?

Their difficulty lies in the fact that they require precision and research, and sincerity in their treatment is far more than other work, and the biggest burden was study, research and scrutiny. The search for documented information has taken a great effort from us, therefore we have to impart the truth, then comes the talent which enjoys God bless us by presenting the work in an attractive and useful way that brings joy and joy. awareness of viewers

Are you planning a sequel to the series?

Talking about presenting a second part of the “counterattack” is premature, because the battle for intelligence does not stop, and requires rounds, and in the “counterattack” the interest was to collect as many people as possible. of wires that connect to each other. in a dramatic format, and I hope we managed to report some important events, and in the end the audience decides.

You studied medicine and practiced. Are you still planning to continue practicing there?

I studied medicine with my desire and my love. I graduated in 1997, and practiced medicine for years, then worked for the World Health Organization at the United Nations for three years, and practiced medicine until 2014, then this year I presented the series (Dead Heart), and my last appointment this year was medicine, Since then I have been doing my work in the theater, and the writing was no coincidence. Rather, it was my first hobby and I practiced it while I was in college.

Have you benefited from studying and practicing medicine in writing your work?

Especially in national work, and in (counterattack), since my specialty is anesthesiology, and medical studies greatly affect research and audit processes in particular, and this has helped me in my work (Kalbash and Choice 1, and Back Attack), my medical school, my work at the United Nations, and my fluency in the language, all of that. He helped me get references in languages ​​other than Arabic, as I looked at references and documents in different languages, and the time I went through since studying and working in medicine was like training and prepare for such projects, how can I research it scientifically before I start writing it.
