Egyptian lyric poet Samir Zaki died late last night, according to artist Essam Karika.
Issam Karika mourned the lyric poet on his Facebook page, describing him as a “companion of the journey and a friend of life”.

The Egyptian lyric poet has collaborated with stars in Egypt and the Arab world including Diana Haddad, Saber Al-Rubai, Latifa, Walid Tawfik, Nawal Al Zoghbi, Pascal Machaalani, Muhammad Mohi, Khaled Selim, Mahmoud Al-Leithi, Khaled Ajaj, Abdel Fattah Greni, Hamid Al Shaeri and Abdel Basset Hamouda.
