The Council of Ministers held its session today – via video communication – under the chairmanship of the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister.
At the start of the session, the board reviewed the efforts of state agencies to improve development gains and achieve more leaps (Vision 2030) in all of its axes, which are based on augmentation and growth. maintenance of economic growth in all areas, and the development of new sectors according to the distinguished geographical location and the leading position of the Kingdom.
In this context, the Council of Ministers considered the launch of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy by the Crown Prince, as the start of a new phase in this vital sector to modernize its services and its means, integrate its system. and its modern patterns, and consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics center connecting the three continents, through a set of qualitative initiatives and projects which, God willing, will contribute to the achievement of economic and social objectives, and improving the Kingdom’s competitiveness at regional and global level.
In his statement to the Saudi News Agency, the Minister of Information designate, Dr Majid Al-Qasabi, said the council had renewed the Kingdom’s continued support for Yemen and its rightful government, and urged all the parties to accept political solutions to unite the ranks. of the various specters of its people, prevent the bloodshed and bridge the gap between its components. Complete its march towards the restoration of its state, security and stability, and support efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to end the crisis, in accordance with the Gulf initiative, the results of the national dialogue Yemeni Comprehensive and Security Council Resolution (2216).
The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s condemnation of the continued attempts by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia to target civilians and civilian objects, and to continue to violate the Stockholm Accord by launching hostilities from Hodeidah Governorate.
The Council referred to what the Kingdom expressed during the two special sessions on Africa, multilateralism and international governance to fight the Corona pandemic, which took place on the sidelines of the meeting of foreign ministers and the Development of the Group of Twenty in Italy. city of Matera, about its support for international and regional efforts, to lay the foundations for stability, security and conflict resolution on the continent, awaiting global solidarity to advance it, promote investing in various fields and being keen on partnership and effective cooperation to face the challenges that threaten the world and humanity.
And he said the Council of Ministers stressed the Kingdom’s strong position to make the Middle East region free from weapons of mass destruction, support for cooperation to ban them and prevent their spread, condemn their use, and what he showed at the meetings of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons at its 97th session of his great interest in the ban of the Convention, in confirmation of his role in promoting peace and international security.
The Council was informed of the subjects on its agenda, including the subjects which the Shura Council participated in its study, as well as the conclusions of the Economic and Development Council, the Political Affairs Council and the Security, the Office of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Ministers’ Council of Experts in this regard.
The Council of Ministers concluded as follows:
first:
Authorization to negotiate and sign draft agreements between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in the following fields: the field of youth and sports, the cultural field, the field of standardization, the fields commercial, the field of audiovisual media, the field of radio and television, the field of investment encouragement, the field of communications, information and mail technologies, the field of transport, then download the final signed copies to complete the statutory procedures.
Second:
Approval of the minutes of the establishment of the Saudi-Malaysian Coordination Council.
The third:
Amendment of Article (5) of the Regulation of Regional and City Development Authorities, published by Cabinet Resolution No. (475) of 7/9/1439 AH, by adding a paragraph with No. (5 ) with the following text: “5 A representative of the Ministry of Tourism is added to the members of the Council of the Development Authority of the Asir region.
Fourth :
Transfer the tasks of transport, distribution and sale of treated water with all its uses (agricultural, industrial and urban) to the public irrigation establishment.
Fifth:
Modify the list of types of activities excluded from foreign investment, as mentioned in the resolution.
Sixth:
Approval of promotions for the fifteenth and fourteenth grades, as follows:
– Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Hammad Al-Salama is promoted to the post of (administrative advisor) at grade (15) in the Ministry of the National Guard.
– Youssef bin Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Luhaidan is promoted to the post of Fifteenth Citizen Affairs Advisor in the Ministry of National Guard.
– Ali bin Attia bin Hamad Al Jaber is promoted to the post of Director General of the General Directorate of Housing Studies and Monitoring, rank (14) at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.
– Engineer Saif bin Nasser bin Muhammad Al-Saif is promoted to (IT consultant engineer), rank (14) at the National Information Center.
– Abdulaziz bin Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajroush as (Deputy Director General), rank (14) at the National Information Center.
The Council of Ministers was also briefed on a number of general topics on its agenda, including the annual reports of the King Fahd National Library, the Communications and Information Technology Commission and the ‘General Endowment Authority, and the Council has taken the necessary action on these matters.
